NAVFAC’s Seabee Magazine Wins First Place CHINFO Award
Reston, VA, March 24, 2011
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) was recently awarded the U.S. Navy Chief of Information (CHINFO) First Place Merit Award for its quarterly publication, Seabee Magazine. Qnexis, Inc., an award-winning strategic marketing communications and information technology firm, is contracted by the NAVFAC Headquarters Public Affairs and Communications Office (PAO) to provide editorial and graphic design support for the production of Seabee magazine.
NAVFAC’s Seabee Magazine took first prize in “Print Category C, Magazine-Format Publication” from many entries submitted to the annual competition. The CHINFO Merit Award program recognizes outstanding achievements in internal media products submitted by commands and individuals both ashore and afloat. Entries are judged by a professional team of journalists, photographers and public affairs professionals.
“This CHINFO award highlights our solid partnership with NAVFAC and commitment to the Navy’s mission,” said Kurt Nguyen, president and CEO, Qnexis. “More importantly, it underscores our dedication to make the hard work of the Seabees known, through the magazine bearing their namesake.”
Seabee Magazine is a quarterly publication, produced for the Naval Construction Force from NAVFAC's headquarters at The Navy Yard, Washington, D.C. The magazine has a global audience of more than 12,000 readers and is the winner of two previous Communicator Awards and a Davey Award.
