As a subcontractor to Cowan Associates, Qnexis was tasked to assist Naval Supply Headquarters (NAVSUPHQ) with producing museum-quality materials for the “Year of Supply” exhibit at the U.S. Naval Memorial. The compressed timeframe, along with producing all exhibit deliverables according to approved design specifications in a prior contract, created both challenges and opportunities.

Qnexis provided project management during both the production and implementation phases of the project. The team worked closely with NAVSUPHQ officers and contractors to deliver on the initial vision. While design was not technically a component of the task at hand, artwork had to be manipulated and recreated for many deliverables. Qnexis built onto NAVSUP’s established plan, working with specialty vendors, fabrication manufacturers and U.S. Memorial staff. Exhibit elements included the following: two-story vertical replenishment display, uniformed mannequins, historical pieces and artifacts, a food service line, recycling demo, children’s stations, banner stands, lightboxes, a memorial and an interactive touchscreen kiosk. Qnexis served as a direct liaison with the client throughout the duration of the project to ensure expectations were met.

NAVSUP’s “Year of Supply” exhibit kicked off 12 months of event and activities, attended by thousands of visitors – active duty and reserve military, veterans, VIPs and the public at large. Many of the exhibit pieces are now housed in NAVSUP-sponsored museums outside the Greater Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. “Year of Supply” continued Qnexis’s success in the museum exhibit production arena, and also served as a launch pad for additional work at the U.S. Naval Memorial.
